Fun design on the fat guy, but things don't seem to line up quite right - bottom of feet, axe in relationship to knee, etc.
When I scan, I like to make sure color correction is off on the scanning software, then mess around with the levels in Photoshop.
I like the palette you used for the lady, there's some interesting contrast going on. You are rendering the face as if it was a flash photograph - the light coming directly from our viewpoint makes everything flat. On the other hand, the part of the cape over her shoulder looks like it's being lit from the right, making it inconsistent with the rest.
